New Year’s Eve has come and gone. Every year we all swear not to make resolutions as we won’t honor them past February. But I have to get serious this year.

Resolution 1: Learn computing. I’ve been writing software and hardware reviews for near two decades now and I still haven’t a clue as to what I’m talking about.

I usually fall back on the excuse of a health issue I had that took me out of the game for several years. But I’m smarter than that (at least I like to think so).

I also have to get all of my equipment , software, and files back up to snuff.

For example, my desk is literally 4 inches deep in paper. While it’s exciting to find something you forgot you had bought, it is disturbing to come across a concert stub fro 1987! And that’s after moving several times!

Resolution 2: Write. I don’t mean simply reviews. I mean it’s time for me to chinwag with y’all on a regular basis. Rarely what I think of a specific situation. There’s already 2,000,000 YouTubers with channels spouting their opinion.

No, I’d like to give you my take on something but deliver it in a different style. And sometimes, maybe mostly, just rant for cathartic reasons or entertainment (if it amuses you).

Posting once a month isn’t gonna drive up my numbers any. I don’t monetize the site as I hate looking at ads myself when I visit a site. I derive satisfaction in knowing that people from all over this paltry orb read my material. Increasing numbers has become both a game and a challenge.

To me, that’s a hoot. And partially OCD.

Resolution 3: Learn the software and hardware that I own. As an adjunct, also either sell or donate the stuff I no longer use or never even really needed in the first place. “Hey, I’m saving 40%!” “But you don’t need it.” “But I’m saving 40%!”

Or the last refuge of the scoundrel… ‘I have to have the latest’.

I’m gonna keep the number of resolutions to three. That seems manageable. I’m also making the occasional appearance on podcasts which always amuses me that someone thinks I have knowledge to impart. Oh well, it’s their show.
